Accutrak is an electronics company that specialises in tracking and weighing solutions for the mining environment; with the resulting production data being digitized. The data collected is used to optimise productivity through state of the art Information Technology.

With buzz words like ‘automation’, ‘digitisation’ and phrases like ‘technology in mining is the only way to improve productivity’, Accutrak is well positioned to enable well-known mining groups achieve their digital ambitions.

Our expertise and experience in the mining industry has allowed us to proudly develop our own solutions from the ground-up; from the in-house designed and built hardware components, to the powerful software that forms the backbone of all our offerings.

Products on offer are:
  • Trucktrak – A tracking solution for the trackless underground mining environment.
  • Minegaze – A tracking solution for the trackless surface/open pit mining environment.
  • Outset – On-board weighing systems for commercial vehicles. Accutrak has the right to distribute Outset products in Africa.
  • Smartrail - Tracking and weighing solution for rail-bound mines.
  • Accuchip – A material and explosives car tracking solution.
We will soon be launching Dataveyor, a battery-operated data transfer network solution, with a two-year battery life. The devices are small enough to fit to the roof of the working area in a mine and have the ability to collect information from third party devices in that area. The devices will have the ability to reliably transport data, wirelessly, to the nearest network point underground and ultimately to the surface where it can be used to make business decisions.

Our Mission

Accutrak’s mission is to offer state of the art electronic hardware devices to the mining industry to improve and manage production through modern software databases, thereby providing real-time communications and management tool interfaces with live displays. In addition, integration of smart phone technology provides live dash boards and other live reporting tools.

Management Team

Chief Executive Officer - Pierre Swart

Pierre has a strong commercial background with a technical interest. He studied at Stellenbosch University, University of Johannesburg and North West University where he obtained a M.Com degree (Management Accountancy), doing his thesis on product costing in the mining industry. He has extensive general management experience in manufacturing, been Divisional Managing Director of two large listed groups in South Africa, one where he implemented a start-up operation and the other implemented a turn-around strategy where he managed 260 people with an annual turn-over of R2bn. During the past 10 years he focused on turn-around business ventures. His experience in various sectors includes the Mining, FMCG, insurance service industry, OEM automotive and affordable construction markets.

Financial Manager - Daleen Kotze

Daleen started her career as an accounting intern at JP Commercial & Financial Accountants in 2002. She graduated from the University of South Africa in 2008 with a degree in Accounting Science. After completing her articles, she passed the SAIPA board exam in 2009 and practised as a Professional Accountant at the firm for the next four years. She joined the Accutrak team in 2013 as Management Accountant and was promoted to Financial Manager in 2018.

Technical Manager - Nelis Uys

Nelis graduated in 2009 from the North-West University’s Potchefstroom campus with a B.Eng in Computer and Electronics. Nelis started his career in ESKOM’s Research and Innovation Department. During this time, he focused mainly on the development of acquisition and logging instrumentation in addition to project management in Renewable Energy research projects. From there he focused his career on the electronics development environment. He spent 5 years in the telematics industry where he specialized in real-time embedded system and RF communication development.

Services Manager - Jaco Grobler

Jaco Grobler matriculated at High school Wagpos in 2004. He worked in 2005 at Eagle Granite near Brits in North West for 6 Months as a Dress Yard Manager. He then moved to a company called Sybotec, in Hartbeespoort in North West where he worked as a Workshop Manager for 2 years, before he was appointed as Business Manager for another 2 and a half years. He started working at Accutrak in 2010 as a Site Manager for Accutrak at Royal Bafokeng Platinum Mine until 2012 and was then appointed as Services Manager. He is currently studying towards a Degree in Business Management.
